The Laser station combines precision and creativity, giving you the power to cut, etch, and engrave a variety of materials with stunning accuracy.

Our CNC laser cutter makes it easy to produce clean, detailed results on a range of materials including wood, acrylic, textiles, and more. Personalize projects with engraved designs, cut prototypes, etch patterns, and fabricate components for larger builds.

Makers often pair this station with the 3D Print or Build Stations for multi-material projects, including wood, acrylic, leather, paper, and more.

Get certified at the Laser Station

To use the Laser Station independently, complete the Laser Station Certification Course (no experience required). In this class, you will:

  • Get introduced to both the software and hardware for our CNC Laser

  • Learn how to safely operate the laser with guided support from our staff and practice using the tools as you work through an in-class project

  • Discover potential applications and things you can make

After you complete the course, you’ll be certified to book the Laser Station to work on your own projects independently.

Working at the Laser Station

Once certified, you can book the Laser Station in 1-hour blocks to work on your own projects. You’ll have access to the CNC laser, a dedicated computer, and on-site staff if you need assistance.

Booking the Laser Station
Book in advance to guarantee your spot. Access is available during regular shop hours, and you can add multiple hours to any visit through your member portal. Drop-ins are welcome when space allows.

Materials
This station is BYOM (Bring Your Own Materials). We have scraps for testing and can help you source what you need, but we don’t currently stock materials for laser cutting.
