The Detail Station is all about precision, shaping, and finishing wood-based projects. It is often used as an extension of our Build Station.

The Detail Station focuses on power tools and techniques that bring refinement to your woodworking projects. Whether you’re smoothing a table top, carving detail into a prop, or prepping surfaces for paint or stain, this station helps take you from “rough cut” to ready-to-show.

It’s the perfect complement to the Build Station and is often used alongside it for complete woodworking workflows.

Tools and capabilities

  • Specialty pro-grade sanders, routers, nailers, and drill press

  • Workbenches with clamps and ventilation for fine sanding and dust control

  • Paint and stain booth for finishing and sealing

  • Use shop tables and carts to stage and build your work

  • Access our paint booth for finishing

Get certified at the Detail Station

Before you start building, you’ll need to get certified on the tools in our Build Station. Designed for any skill level, you will:

  • Get introduced to all of the tools and machinery in the Detail Station (listed above).

  • Learn how to safely operate each tool with guided support from our staff and practice using the tools as you work through an in-class project

  • Discover potential applications and things you can make in our shop.

After you complete the course, you’ll be certified to book the Detail Station to work on your own projects independently.

Anyone age 18+
Course Duration: 2 hours
Cost: $125 +tax (includes materials)
Class size: 3-4 students for a personalized experience. Private classes for small groups of this size are available on request.

Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before the class starts to receive a full refund. No-shows and late cancellations are non-refundable.

Working at the Detail Station

Once certified, you can book the Detail Station in 1-hour blocks to work on your own projects. You’ll have access to professional power and hand tools, sturdy workbenches, and staff support if needed.

Booking the Detail Station
Book your spot in advance to guarantee access during regular shop hours. You can add multiple hours per session through your member portal. Drop-ins are welcome when space allows.

Materials
This station is BYOM (Bring Your Own Materials). We can help you source or prep materials and often have offcuts available for testing; contact us before your shop time.
