How the makerspace works

Whether you’re a first-time maker or a seasoned DIY pro, our goal is to give you the tools, space, and know-how to bring your ideas to life, safely, confidently, and on your own schedule.

If you’re looking to start making in our shop, our makerpsace runs on a simple system: Get Certified → Book Your Time → Start Making.

01

Get certified wherever you want to work

Each station at Ghost Rocket has its own short Certification course. To work on your own projects at any station, you’ll first need to complete its Certification course.

Each course is practical and hands-on, focusing on safe and proper tool usage and overall shop safety. We’ll also cover materials, applications, and best practices for working in our space. Whether you’re new to making or a pro, Certification ensures everyone shares the same standards for safety, respect, and shop know-how. This helps keep our space safe, inclusive, and fun for all.

Once certified, you can book time to work on your own projects. These classes are also a great way to explore new tools, techniques, and ways of making.

Duration: Each course is 2 or 3 hours
Cost: $125 per course. Monthly members get a discount
Requirements: Ages 18+, no experience needed
Class size: 3-4 people. Private group classes can be scheduled by request

Book time to work on your own projects

Once certified, you can reserve time at that station to work independently. Stations are booked in hourly blocks so that you can work when it fits your schedule.

Most stations have multiple spots available to reserve. Book time in hourly blocks, with a minimum of one hour per session. Reservations are based on availability, and drop-ins are welcome when space allows.

Choose what works best for your workflow:

  • Hourly and multi-passes - perfect for quick projects, experiments, or trying out new tools. Starting at $5/hour.

  • Monthly memberships - ideal for regular makers who want ongoing access, discounts, and member perks. Starting at $250/month.

Start to make, build, tinker, fix, prototype, craft, and create

Our vibe is “open workshop,” where you bring the projects, ideas, and “what ifs…” and get to work or get a hand from us. Grab your plans, materials, files, and head to the shop!

At Ghost Rocket, you can work independently, collaborate with friends*, or add optional support time with one of our staff members. We offer help with project planning (before you come in) or in-shop production support (one-on-one guidance while you work).

Either way, if you ever have a question, need a quick hand or want a refresher on a tool, our friendly, experienced staff is always happy to help.

Not sure where to start? Contact us or book a free project consultation.

Here when you need a hand

We know (all too well) that it takes a lot to go from idea to object. Even the most experienced makers need an extra hand, eye, or brain sometimes. No worries, we have you covered. Actually, this is kind of our jam!

Ghost Rocket offers a few ways to get extra help, starting before you come to the shop to work:

Project Planning Sessions

  • designing the outcome

  • planning the build

  • sourcing or prepping materials

  • help with files and graphics.

In-Shop Production Support

Reserve one-on-one time with someone from our crew to be your co-pilot while you work on your project in our shop; we’ll guide and help you think through while you drive the project. You’ll schedule this time to coincide with your station booking.

Come check out the space and see what’s possible.
