Ghost Rocket Makerspace is a community-centred creative workspace in Toronto's East End, designed for adults of all backgrounds and experience levels who want to work on their own creative projects or explore new ways of hands-on or digital making.
We value curiosity, respect, and collaboration and we ask everyone in the shop to do the same.
Why We Exists
A lot of people have ideas they want to make real, but not everyone has the space, tools, or know-how to get started on their own.
Ghost Rocket was created to remove those barriers.
And, we know all too well that it takes a lot to go from an idea to an object. We provide the space, tools, and support to help you bridge that gap. We offer support with planning, designing, sourcing or prepping materials, and in-shop production guidance.
Making comes in all shapes and sizes and there's never one way to make a thing. We specifically design our shop to be multidisciplinary so that your creative mind can wander into so many more "what ifs..."
We believe making should feel accessible, fun, and genuinely useful, not intimidating or hard. Our goal is to provide a place where you can show up with an idea, work at your own pace, and make steady progress with support nearly by when you need it.
A Studio-First Makerspace
Ghost Rocket is designed as a studio-first makerspace. That means workspace and everyday tools come first. You don't need to commit to machines or certifications just to get started.
Projects and interests evolve, and your access can evolve with them. Some people work entirely at our shared workspace. Others come for a specific machine or capability available at our Maker Stations. Either way, you can add access when you're ready.

How Ghost Rocket Makerspace Works
Ghost Rocket is a shared makerspace. You book a start time so we know when to expect you, and you’re welcome to stay and work during open hours. Access to tools and machines requires completing the appropriate Station Orientation first. Booking ahead; walk-ins welcome as space allows. Before using the Makerspace, everyone must sign our in-person Makerspace Agreement covering safety and use of the space.
Meet Mike
Founder & Lead Fabricator

As a multidisciplinary maker, designer, fabricator, and problem-solver, Mike turns imagination into reality. With over 25 years of digital and hands-on fabrication and design, Mike’s skills run deep—from building custom furniture, props, costumes, and arcade cabinets to creating interactive museum exhibits, set pieces, large-scale pop-ups, and more.
Mike's biggest passion by far, though, is helping others bring their wild ideas to life. That’s why he built Ghost Rocket Makerspace as a place for creativity, curiosity, and community to collide. Whether you’re a first-time tinkerer or a seasoned pro, Mike is here to guide you, cheer you on, and celebrate your “look what I made!” moments.
